Portelas
Portelas is the first small village out of Lagos on the Lisbon road. Roman remains have been found at Paul, east of the main road, near the river, and many would claim that these finds have enough credentials to be the original site of Roman Lacobriga.

Not a lot to see, even on the main road, but a short stroll round the back street found a typical Nora and the old school house.
The laundry stands on the junction that leads to the Barões of
São João and São Miguel.
